Prof. Kerry London has recently been appointed to the ARC College of Expert for her expertise and knowledge in research in the disciplines for the Built Environment. This appointment will help to raise the profile at a national level of the issues in productivity, innovation and growth relation to industrialised building.

Prof. Kerry London and A/Prof. Malik Khalfan were awarded an ARC linkage grant. The value is over $500k and is for 3 years. The industry partners are Metricon, Australand, FMG Engineering and MBA V. The project starts in Nov. 2014 and will contribute to this Knowledge Cluster. The project title is 'Efficient construction: analysis of integrated supply chains for innovative off site housing manufacturing'.

Recently, the Centre for Integrated Project Solutions, RMIT University submitted an EOI to the Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited (FWPA). This project outlined a program of research which would create new Knowledge and capability on offsite manufacturing in this sector.

Prof. Xiaolong Xue, HIT, A/Prof. Yingbo Ji, NCUT, and Prof. Kerry London, RMIT University recently submitted a grant application together. The fund classification is National Science Foundation for Young Scientists of China. The project title is ‘Multiple stakeholders collaborative innovation mechanism for industrialization of the construction industry: From the dynamic social network perspective.’

The Department of Industry funded research project to initiate this Knowledge Cluster involved a China Mission in early 2014. Delegates were Prof. Kerry London, RMIT University, Mr Adam Siegel, Metricon, Mr Ray Thompson, CSR and Mr Peng Zhang, VAKIP. The visit included workshops, meetings, public lectures and visits to factories/facilities and interviews with key stakeholders.
